The Voices

Our calling is to use our gifts to tell about the hope that is found in God’s abundant love. As a ministry, we are uniquely gifted by God to do the work of the music ministry, acknowledging that our gifts in music come from Him.

The dedication of this choir to high musical standards and leadership in worship requires commitment from every member. To sing in the Voices is a commitment to the music ministry of the church and a covenant with other members that each will do their part as an important member of the choir.

Youth Department

The CYF is an exciting and fulfilling ministry designed to train young people, between the ages of 12-18, in Christian living. We enrich their lives through worship, Bible study, discussions, Christian service and recreation.

We provide opportunity for a safe environment for self-expression and interaction with other youth. The CYF meets monthly on the Second Sunday after morning service.

Church School

Our Church School is committed to the Christian nurture of all in the community of faith. We believe that Christian education is an essential ministry for maturing one’s faith, knowledge, and love of Jesus Christ.

Our teachers are trained and excited to share the words of Jesus with you! There are classes for all ages. Classes are each Sunday at 10 AM via Zoom. On the First Sunday of every month, Pastor Barnes has “Nurture Hour with the Pastor” All are welcome!

Children’s Ministry

This ministry is designed to introduce God and God’s work in a nourishing, encouraging and in a practical atmosphere. We partner with parents, congregation, and community to guide children toward a HEART for God. This approach provides excitement and fun as the children learn and hear about God’s love, promises, and commandments through the Bible stories of the Old and New Testaments. ages 3-11 are welcome.

Justice Ministry

Our justice ministry is designed to work with other houses of worship through an organization called CLOUT (Citizens of Louisville Organized and United Together)(CLOUT) to solve critical community problems. We are not a service provider, but a grassroots, direct action, multi-issue organization, which has come together to be a powerful force for improving the quality of life in our communities.

Our mission is to build the power within our congregation and other congregations to solve community problems by holding systems accountable. Please visit the attached link to see some of the victories we have won in the name of justice.
